POSITION:            Sanitation/back up Packaging machine operator

SHIFT ASSIGNMENT: 2nd SHIFT – 3:00 pm to 1:00 am, 4 days a week with occasional Friday overtime, SHIFTS OTHER THAN SECOND SHIFT MAY BE REQUIRED DEPENDING ON NEEDS

REQUIREMENTS:

•       Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in operating, maintenance and troubleshooting of processing equipment such as packaging machine, conveyors, or distribution system, etc.

•       Must have previous experience in cleaning and sanitation of equipment

•       Must have good understanding of fast-paced production environment, with great attention to detail and able to multi-tasks.

•       Ability to record various data efficiently and accurately.

•       Must have ability to pay attention to detail.

•       Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instruction.

•       Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

•       Knowledge in and adherence to Workplace Health and Safety, HACCP, Critical Control Points, Food Safety & Food Quality programs, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

•       Ability to perform troubleshooting and provide maintenance on all packaging and plant equipment.

•       Ability to complete the assigned work order for preventative maintenance of equipment as per assigned schedule.

•       Must be willing to stay overtime.

•       Responsible and dependable with an EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE RECORD.

•       Ability to perform various duties (seasoning supply application, wastewater operation, and packaging area sanitation, test, and change-over) as the sanitation job is in rotation schedule.

 

DUTIES: 

 WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  1. Operate Packaging Equipment, and chips & seasoning distribution system competently and safely following health and safety, good manufacturing practices, quality standard, and standard operating procedure.
  2. Ensure all Quality and food safety checks are preformed and accurately recorded to assure quality product is manufactured.
  3. Perform troubleshooting and provide maintenance/ assistance on all packaging equipment, all processing, and shipping equipment as required.
  4. Follows first in first out of materials and keep track of material movement using a hand-held scanner.
  5. Performs pre-operation inspection of packaging equipment and other processing equipment.
  6. Ensure efficient production operations.
  7. Completes the assigned work orders for preventative maintenance of equipment in a timely fashion.
  8. Performs inventory of materials as per assigned schedule
  9. Competently and safely perform cleaning tasks on assigned equipment, and processing facilities following standard cleaning procedures, general sanitation practices, health & safety program, and good manufacturing practices.
  10. Disassemble equipment for cleaning and reassemble for production.
  11. Check the cleaning solution concentration, perform assigned cleaning tasks and documentation.
  12. Perform seasoning supply operation as per rotation schedule. 
  13. Assist in production start-up, change-over check, sanitation of equipment/premises, and inspection.
  14. Collect and dispose of garbage in the designated area during work in progress and as required.
  15. Perform basic quality control and packaging test as required.
  16. Acts as reliever for packer, other sanitation personnel and seasoning supply.
  17. Perform seasoning inventory as required.
  18. Assist in organizing and rotating supplies, materials, including pallets. 
  19. Must be able to obtain a forklift license and drive forklift in a safe manner.
  20. Provide relief and/or assistance to other employees within clean-up, production, maintenance, or OTHER POSITION AS REQUIRED.
  21. Other tasks as required.
