Pay rate:                                                                                $24.00+ hourly 

Number of positions and Location:                                    4+ permanent positions, Calgary

Work Schedule:                                                                     Monday to Friday,

                                                                                                All 3 Shift availability required plus overtime as needed.

 

Old Dutch Foods is looking for Manufacturing Technicians (Packers) that can also cover as Seasoning Technicians in a relief capacity in a Union environment at our Calgary plant.

 

Responsibilities and Expectations (but not limited to):

• Perform labor critical tasks as per company standards. This includes but is not limited to general packing, box making, quality checks and housekeeping
• Good understanding of production schedule
• Familiar and able to use JD Edwards handhelds
• Gather seasonings needed for production according to the production schedule and return seasonings to the correct storage locations when no longer in use
• Based on Master Production Schedule, properly fill spice hoppers and PODS
• Assemble/disassemble and clean seasoning applicators and replace filters when necessary
• Perform quick wipes/cleaning on machines when necessary
• Assist in removing/installing seasoning drum(s)
• Comply with the following:
  • Standard Operating Procedures and Policies (SOPP)
  • Health & Safety plus Food Safety Rules & Regulations (AIB, SQF etc)
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS)

 

Requirements:

• Ability to understand production schedules
• Read & Write in English
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Good decision-making skills
• Must pass the latest training in SQF and GMP
• Must pass specific aptitude test for relief position
• Satisfy physical demand analysis for the job, involves repetitive heavy lifting
• Be a team player and respectful for others
• Good attendance
• Food Manufacturing experience would be an asset
