Supply Chain Analyst

The supply chain analyst makes numerous decisions regarding procurement, production planning, inventory levels, supply chain timelines and efficiencies working alongside all functional groups within the organization.  This role assimilates information from multiple sources and converts it into workable and communicable plans and forecasts.  Communication is a paramount requirement in this role.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work within the Supply Chain department to ensure appropriate inventory available to support business activities (raw material, finished goods, third-party supplied goods) while balancing against shortages and excess
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to understand and accommodate sales initiatives and promotions to facilitate accurate inventory levels
  • Work with production facilities and management to understand and accommodate input and output constraints, adjusting plans as necessary

Work alongside the inventory control manager to perform the following duties:

  • Prepare and disseminate daily, weekly and monthly reports on a variety of inventory related topics including but not limited to: on hand inventory, on order inventory, aging inventory, inventory run out dates, as well as sales and usage data
  • Analyze data to develop and modify plans regarding demand trends, supply chain fulfillment, plant fulfillment of finished goods product within the supply chain
  • Compile data from historic sales, promotional analysis, and seasonal analysis to create weekly production plan
  • Examine and archive data to be used in future analyses
  • Communicate and lead conversations regarding the current state of inventory along with planned strategies to ensure there is alignment between departments and the different levels of management
  • Evaluate inventory trends and material usage in order to purchase specified raw materials for various production facilities
  • Conduct investigations regarding inventory deficiencies and variances
  • Perform analytical tasks and data management as required
  • Maintain and enhance tools, master lists, analysis charts, ERP system data
  • Travel is a possibility in this role

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, specifically an advanced Microsoft Excel user, experienced with excel macros
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Experience with J.D. Edwards is an asset
  • Experience with  Visual Basic for Applications is an asset
  • Ability to work well in a diverse workforce
  • Detail oriented
  • Exceptional communicator, comfortable with both large-scale communication and direct individual communication
  • Can perform and follow through on root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Capable of continuous improvement regarding tools, analytics, and processes
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • In depth supply chain, logistics, and transportation knowledge
  • Ability to multi task and be agile in changing situations
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience or mixture of education and experience
