Central Laboratory Technician Level II

Duration: Permanent

Hours:  Full Time

Time:   Split shift (1:00 pm - 9:00 pm), but must be flexible with hours

Requirements in Food Science or related field

2-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility an asset, but not required              

Ability to multitask and have effective time management

Effective oral and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Team player

Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Flexibility to rotate on different shifts as required

Compliance to / Knowledge of:

  1. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  2. Food Safety Enhancement Program and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (FSEP and HACCP)
  3. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS)
  4. Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
  5. Workplace Health and Safety Regulations (OHSA)
  6. American Institute of Baking Consolidated Standards (AIB)
  7. SQF 9.0 system
  8. Standard Operating Policies and Procedures (SOPs)

Job Description:

The Full time CLT II (Central Laboratory Technician) reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager. 

The Full time CLT II is responsible for (but not limited to) the following duties:

  1. Comply and enforce the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Programs and Standard Operating Procedures.
  2. Perform day to day quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain product within acceptable limits of quality and safety.
  3. Identify non-conforming products and able to act quickly to make adjustment on the process control and as necessary perform Hold procedures.
  4. Calibrate and operate laboratory equipment.
  5. Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet specifications.
  6. Review the QA and production records to ensure compliance to specifications and document control program.
  7. Work in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Other related duties as required
