Old Dutch® “Win a Day of Hockey with a CHL Team” Promotion COMPLETE CONTEST RULES
HOW TO ENTER
1. This contest begins on or about August 8, 2010 and ends at 11:59 pm (MT) on November 8, 2010. For a chance to win the Prize in this contest, purchase any specially marked Old Dutch® Potato Chips product (235 g), from a participating retail location (while supplies last). Packaging will direct the entrant to visit the contest area of olddutchfoods.ca (the “website”). Entrants into the contest must nominate one hockey team whose team members are between six (6) and twelve (12) years of age (see Rule #4 for prize details). When prompted, complete the registration as instructed. Registration requires the UPC code from a specially marked package of Old Dutch® Potato Chips. If you wish to be entered for a chance to be selected for the Prize, submit a 250 word (maximum) essay outlining why you want your nominated hockey team to win the Prize in this contest. No Purchase Necessary. To enter without a purchase, UPC codes may be copied down without making a purchase from a specially marked package. There is no cost, or other obligation incurred, by registering on the website. Limit one (1) contest entry per household per day.

2. The odds of being selected to win the Prize are dependent upon the content of the essay based on the criteria listed below and the number and caliber of entries received.
SELECTION PROCESS & JUDGING CRITERIA
3. Between November 8 and November 12, 2010, all entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges made up of representatives from Old Dutch Foods Ltd., CHL, any promotional partners and their respective agencies. On November 15, 2010 at approximately 2:00 pm (MT) the Judging panel will determine the Prize winner according to the criteria below:
- clarity of language and style: 25%
- suitability for publication: 25%
- appropriateness to Hockey Day theme: 50%
Entrants may nominate any Canadian hockey team with players from six (6) to twelve (12) years of age. The Prize must be accepted as awarded.
PRIZE DESCRIPTION
4. The Prize consists of a trip to spend a day with a CHL team (as chosen by the contest judges) and could include activities such as time on the ice with the chosen Canadian Hockey League (CHL) club’s coach and a number of players who will conduct drills and competitions for a minimum of one (1) hour, and tickets for each participant to see the CHL team play a regular season game. Transportation will be via Motorcoach Bus and accommodations for one (1) night will be provided if necessary as determined by Old Dutch Foods Ltd. at a hotel property to be chosen by Old Dutch Foods Ltd. Accommodations are based on quad-occupancy, with one (1) adult and three (3) minors maximum to each room. Rogers Sportsnet will attend the day event and produce video segments to air on Rogers Sportsnet Television, sportsnet.ca, CHL and league websites, olddutchfoods.ca, social media sites, and other public airings at the discretion of Old Dutch Foods Ltd. and its promotional partners. The Prize participants must include a Canadian hockey team of up to 18 players who are 6-12 years of age, and a minimum of six (6) participants/chaperones who must be of legal age in the province in which the Prize is fulfilled, and who will be responsible for the minors attending. The maximum number of participants is twenty-four (24). The approximate value of the Prize is $10,000. There is a total of one (1) Prize to be won. The Prize must be taken by February 19, 2011, or it will be forfeited in its entirety. Blackout periods may affect prize fulfillment. If the winner of the Prize is under the age of majority in the province or territory of his/her residence, he or she must take the Prize trip with an individual who is of the age of majority in such individual’s province or territory of residence and who has agreed to be fully responsible for the winner. That individual is included in the total allotment of 24 spaces. All other costs and expenses associated with the Prize, including meals, gratuities, insurance, items of a personal nature, transportation to the Motorcoach pickup and drop off points are the responsibility of the Prize winner and his/her traveling guests. Adult chaperones are responsible for all minors at all times, and Old Dutch Foods, CHL, any promotional partners and their respective agencies assume no responsibility or liability for their safety or actions.
GENERAL
5. In order to be eligible to win the Prize, the selected eligible entrant, or their parent/legal guardian if the winner is under the age of majority, shall be required to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical, electronic or otherwise. The skill-testing question will be administered by telephone or email.
6. The entrant eligible to receive the Prize will be notified by telephone or email on or before November 19, 2010. If the entrant does not respond within seven (7) calendar days, he/she will forfeit their prize and the first runner up will have a chance to win. If the next alternate does not claim the Prize Package within seven (7) calendar days, the Prize will not be awarded.
7. This contest is conducted by Old Dutch Foods Ltd. and is open to residents of Canada who are over the age of 13, excluding the employees (and persons with whom they are domiciled) of Old Dutch Foods Ltd. and its affiliates, licensors, associates and authorized distributors of Old Dutch® products, and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies and the contest judges.
8. All entrant information and any other materials submitted, including the essay, become the property of Old Dutch Foods Ltd. for any and all purposes and will not be returned. None of Old Dutch Foods Ltd., or its affiliates, licensors, associates and authorized distributors of Old Dutch® products, The Canadian Hockey League (CHL), promotional partners or participating retail locations, contest judges and their respective employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies (collectively called the “Group”) will be responsible for entries that are illegible or defaced or that have been delayed, stolen, misdirected, lost or destroyed.
9. Entrants (or the parent/legal guardian of any selected entrant under the age of majority) eligible to win the prize will be required to sign a declaration and release of liability and publicity confirming understanding, compliance with and acceptance of the contest rules and acceptance of the Prize as awarded and a release of all liability satisfactory to Old Dutch Foods Ltd. before being declared a winner. Before being declared the Prize winner, the entrant and their guests (or the parent/legal guardian of any guest under the age of majority) must sign a declaration confirming understanding, compliance with and acceptance of the contest rules and acceptance of the Prize and a publicity release and a release of all liability satisfactory to Old Dutch Foods Ltd. If any individual under the age of majority in his or her province or territory of residence wins the Prize, the Prize will be awarded to the parent or legal guardian of the selected entrant, provided such parent or legal guardian accepts the Prize as awarded, and complies with these contest rules, including signing and returning the required documentation on behalf of the selected eligible entrant. If the guests of the Prize winner who wish to participate in the Prize are under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence, then such guest’s parent, legal guardian or other legal representative must first complete, sign and return a declaration and release satisfactory to Old Dutch Foods Ltd. permitting them to be a guest of the Prize winner. At least six (6) of the Prize winner’s maximum twenty-four (24) guests must be over the age of majority in their province or territory of residence and must agree to be fully responsible for all minors participating in the Prize.
10. Old Dutch Foods Ltd. retains the right, in its absolute discretion, to make substitutions of equivalent kind or value in the event of the unavailability of any component of the Prize for any reason whatsoever. The prize is not transferable and must be accepted as awarded. No cash surrender value. Entrants and/or winners and/or guests assume liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participating in the contest, or by the acceptance, possession or use of the Prize awarded, including but not limited to claims/damages for personal injury, or property damage. No member of the Group shall be responsible in any way for the use of or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to this contest, any prize awarded in this contest, or the events forming part of this contest.
11. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Decisions of Old Dutch Foods Ltd. are final with respect to all aspects of this contest.
12. All eligible entries shall be subject to verification and shall be null and void if they are found to have been obtained outside legitimate channels of distribution, or are illegible, altered, forged, incomplete, garbled or have been tampered with in any way or not obtained in accordance with these contest rules.
13. All entries received after 11:59 PM (MT) November 8, 2010, will be considered null and void and will not be eligible for the Prize. No member of the Group is responsible for printing, distribution or production errors.
14. The Group assumes no liability for injury or damage that may be caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the Internet or participation in the contest. The Group is not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or deleted computer or network transmissions that may limit the ability to participate in the contest. Any attempt by an entrant or other individual to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion including but not limited to any fraudulent claims, is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Old Dutch Foods Ltd. reserves the right to seek remedies and damages from any such individual, to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Participants engaging in any of the foregoing activities may be disqualified and will forfeit any prize won. Old Dutch Foods Ltd. expressly reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the redemption process or the Old Dutch Foods Ltd. website, or to be acting in any manner deemed by Old Dutch Foods Ltd. to be in violation of the contest rules.
15. The Group does not warrant that access to or use of the website or any services accessed through the website will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the foregoing or any prize will meet any particular criteria of performance or quality. The Group expressly disclaims all warranties, including without limitation, warranties of merchantability, title, and fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security or accuracy.
16. Acceptance of the Prize shall constitute and signify Prize participant’s agreement and consent that the Group may use their name, province/territory, place of residence, likeness, testimonials (written or verbal), submission and/or prize information in connection with the Promotion or similar promotions, worldwide, including the Internet, without limitation and without further payment or consideration.
17. For residents of Quebec, any litigation respecting the conduct or administration of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of the Prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purposes of helping the parties reach a settlement.
18. Old Dutch Foods Ltd. reserves the rights, subject to the approval of the Régie in Quebec, to cancel, amend, suspend, withdraw or terminate this contest at any time without prior notice for any reason whatsoever including if a virus, or bug or other major computer problem affects the contest in any way.
19. Personal information will be collected and used by the Group for the sole purpose of administering this contest and will not be used by the Group for any other purpose.
